Alternative Metal???
[edit]I hate to throw in some duductive logic into debate, but instead of this being Alternative Metal, it should be considered Alternative Rock, and Rap Rock or Nu Metal. Alternative Metal doesn't really classify this song very accurately. Logically speaking, if one strips away all vocals, it sounds more like an alternative rock song, not metal. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.244.30.200 (talk) 02:24, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
- I completely agree. I think the genre should say "Nu metal, rap rock, alternative rock." It's a much softer, more melodic song than a ton of songs on Wikipedia that are classified as "alternative rock." Tezkag72 (talk) 21:24, 7 August 2008 (UTC)
Rap ROCK or rap METAL?
[edit]I think the genre should be changed to 'rap rock' as opposed to 'rap metal' because it's a lot softer and more mainstream than some other Linkin Park songs like Faint and Bleed It Out that are considered 'rap rock'. Solitude6nv5 (talk) 08:26, 9 August 2017 (UTC)
- The source cited says, "'Somewhere I Belong,' the first single, starts out all tender and gooey before toppling you into a raucous rap-metal vortex..." - SummerPhDv2.0 17:48, 9 August 2017 (UTC)
